After the Gesmar take-over and after having ordered Damen a new tugboat to be operating in Genoa port, Gregorio Gavarone, helm of Rimorchiatori Riuniti, announces having acquired a new tugboat, currently under construction in the Turkish shipyard Sanmar of Tuzla, whose delivery is forecasted for mid summer 2014.
"We still don't know where we'll engage this unit once she will be handed over" reports Gavarone, adding that they determined closing this deal due to its 6 million euro bargain price.
The new unit, boasting 25 metres in length and 70 tons bollard pull capacity, will be similar to former two ones (the Spagna and Norvegia) currently operating in Genoa.
"Final destination of the new mean could be Malta for her particular suitability to offshore services" continues Gavarone, whose fleet will reach 2.6 units (without considering his participation in Gesmar), 15 of which engaged in Genoa, 3 in Salerno and 8 in Malta. Furthermore, according to credited rumours, Vroon Offshore Italia of Genoa lately sold, for alleged 6.5 million dollars, Supply Vessel (renamed) Vos Energy, built at Eastern Marine Shipyard and operating since September 2008, to be seemingly deployed in the Caspian Sea by her new undisclosed buyer.
